In Memory of Jean Darby

On October 19, 2017, while standing before a jury delivering a closing argument, my colleague and friend, Jean Darby, collapsed. I, along with others in the courtroom, rushed to try to help her. As she stumbled, she said, “I'm okay; I'm fine...”

She never regained consciousness.

As we wrestle with her sudden loss, my faith tells me that she is, in fact, okay... and that she is just fine in her heavenly home.

The legal community will remember her as a tenacious advocate for her clients. She was also a champion for homeless animals.
