Fred Gray at UNA - Week of September 7
On September 9th, I attended a "Celebration of Diversity Breakfast" at UNA featuring Fred Gray, the iconic attorney who represented Rosa Parks and many others involved in the Civil Rights movement. Mr. Gray has been practicing law for 61 years and is certainly an attorney and person whom I admire greatly. He spoke about the importance of taking a stand when one sees injustice.
Before he represented Rosa Parks, Mr. Gray recalled representing a 15-year-old girl who refused to give up her seat on the bus. He said that without that courageous 15 year old, there would have been no Rosa Parks. He cited other examples of one person having the power to make monumental changes.
