In Memory of Dane Perry

On Sunday, September 21, 2014, we said goodbye to a friend, colleague, and fellow attorney, Dane Perry, at a memorial service at North Wood Methodist Church. Dane died on September 18th, much too soon at the age of 68, after spending three weeks in ICU, attempting to recover from a surgery and other medical issues.

Dane was a fighter for the downtrodden and those with difficult legal issues. He served as a fellow team member with me on our Drug Court team, representing the interests of defendants in the program. When I last saw him at the hospital, although he was in ICU in critical condition, one of the last things he asked me was whether his cases for the upcoming week had been postponed. He truly cared about his clients until the end.
