Heroin Task Force Round Up - Week of June 23

Our office worked in parntership with the Florence Police Department, the Lauderdale County Drug Task Force and various federal agencies for the past several months to combat the increased flow of heroin into our area. The investigation culminated on Thursday with a round up of approximately 30 defendants involved in heroin trafficking. The investigation was launched under the leadership of Florence Police Chief Ron Tyler after we had several fatal heroin related drug overdoses in April of this year.
