Elder Abuse Awareness - Week of June 16

This week was Elder Abuse Awareness Week. Lauderdale County DHR Adult Protection Unit staff Pam Gilbert and Stacy Childers organized a number of events held throughout the week. On Wednesday I attended a meeting of the Elder Abuse Prevention Task Force at DHR offices. On Friday I participated in a "Town Hall" meeting held at The Brandon Center. I served on a panel with Probate Judge James Hall, along with DHR representatives and a representitive from the Alabama Securities Commission.
