State v Timmie Kelley Parole Hearing – Week of November 2, 2015

On November 3rd, I traveled to Montgomery and joined with the family of Troy Condrey and many others to protest the parole of Timmie Kelley. Kelly has served 15 years of a life sentence for the murder of Troy Condrey. After murdering Troy, he and an accomplice put his feet in concrete and threw his body off the Natchez Trace Bridge into the Tennessee River.

Kelley confessed to the murder; his accomplice committed suicide before his apprehension by police. Troy's son, who was three years old at the time of the murder, attended the hearing and emotionally addressed the board in opposition to parole, as did Troy's father and others.

When the board announced that parole was denied, the sense of relief that swept the room was palpable. Hopefully, the family can rest a little easier, knowing that at least for the next five years, Kelley will remain where he belongs.
